This is a trilateral symbol consisting of three interlocked spirals. This is known to be one the oldest Irish Celtic symbols. It was discovered on the Newgrange kerbstones.

Newgrange is a prehistoric monument in County Meath, Ireland. It is a grand passage tomb built during the Neolithic period around 3200 BC. Thus makes it older than both Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids.

Triskeles feature prominently in ancient and modern Celtic art. The three spirals symbolise the trinity. Whether its the realms of material existence, earth, water and sky. Or spiritual, physical and celestial.

If you read more on the Triskele you find many more interpretations.
Carefully created with love and passion in my small workshop in Somerset this beautifully made Oak engraving is finished with Danish oil, with a strong and robust key chain.

This piece was made by David a passionate wood artist, he creates from a thriving workshop in Somerset, England. He founded The Grain Attraction to embrace his love of working with wood. A natural material he has a passion for and connection at a soul level.

The central themes of his work are ancient symbols. Sacred geometry, and nature. All the wood used is either reclaimed or sourced from a local family run saw mill. Wood is chosen on a design by design basis to enhance the piece in harmony with the natural wood grain.

David’s work has sold locally, nationally and internationally. He hopes you enjoy his work as much as he enjoyed making it for you.
