This ethereal Triskele or Triple spiral mediation labyrinth is created from a wonderful piece of carefully selected Sapele.

The pictures are of the actual labyrinth you will receive.

It has a diameter of 20.8 cm or 8 2/8" and is 2.4 cm or approx. 1" thick.

This beautifully carved Sapele engraving is finished with Danish oil and food safe wax oil to protect the wood for years to come and bring out the best of the woods natural grain.

A finger labyrinth is a meditation, prayer or mindfulness awakening tool . Which can be used to calm and open the mind, both through use of the labyrinth and through holding the carefully shaped and smooth wood in your hands.

Here I quote from scientific research into the wonder of wood -

“Wood has properties, which makes it a restorative material. In previous studies, wood material has been shown to affect activity of human autonomic nervous system and to relieve stress. People have been shown to have more positive emotions in wooden rooms and the mere touching of wooden materials can have a calming effect."

The Triskele, or triple spiral is an ancient Celtic symbol related to the sun, afterlife and reincarnation.

This engraving is inspired by the Neolithic “tomb” at Newgrange, where it is supposed by some to be a symbol of pregnancy (the sun describes a spiral in its movements every three months; a triple spiral represents nine months), an idea reinforced by the womb like nature of the structure. The symbol also suggests reincarnation- it is drawn in one continuous line, suggesting a continuous movement of time.

Triskeles are one of the most common elements of Celtic art; they are found in a variety of styles in both ancient and modern Celtic art, especially in relation to depictions of the Mother Goddess. They also evoke the Celtic concept of the domains of material existence- earth, water, and sky, and their interrelations.
This piece was made by David a passionate wood artist, he creates from a thriving workshop in Somerset, England. He founded The Grain Attraction to embrace his love of working with wood. A natural material he has a passion for and connection at a soul level.

The central themes of his work are ancient symbols. Sacred geometry, and nature. All the wood used is either reclaimed or sourced from a local family run saw mill. Wood is chosen on a design by design basis to enhance the piece in harmony with the natural wood grain.

David’s work has sold locally, nationally and internationally. He hopes you enjoy his work as much as he enjoyed making it for you.
